Sacramental Preparation

RCIA (Becoming Catholic)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process of prayer, reflection and study that teaches participants about the Roman Catholic faith possibly leading to full Christian initiation in the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. Individual sponsors will assist us in training participants through the entire process.
If you are someone who has never been baptized, been baptized in another faith tradition, or been baptized Catholic but have never received your First Communion or Confirmation and you would like to find out more about the Catholic Church then this is the process for you! The RCIA program is held in conjunction with St. Patrick Parish. If you are interested, contact Sr. Denise Descoteaux at 364-2133.

Confirmation
Are you a young adult, out of high school and interested in emerging into an adult Catholic faith? The Director of the Newman Center will prepare you for the reception of gifts of the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Sacrament is administered in the Spring as part of St. Patrick Parish. Contact Sr. Denise Descoteaux at 364-2133 for more information.

Reconciliation (Confession)
The confession (or disclosure) of sins frees us and facilitates our reconciliation with others. Through such an admission one looks squarely at the sins he/she is guilty of, takes responsibility for them, and thereby opens himself again to God and the communion of the Church in order to make a new future possible. (Catechism of the Catholic Church).
Confessions are held weekly at St. Patrick Church on Saturdays 3:30-4:45 p.m. or by appointment with the Fr. David Cox, the pastor of St. Patrick Church.

Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction offers a chance for individual exploration of God's movement in one's life in a one-on-one, confidential setting with someone experienced in the art of assisting others to grow in their relationship with God.

Weddings
Weddings for UMR students are celebrated at St. Patrick Church. Marriage preparation and all wedding arrangements are with Deacon Brooks or Fr. Cox. Please contact the parish office at 573-364-1435 for more details.
