Greetings from the Newman Center at Rolla.
Thank you, parents, for entrusting your sons and daughters to the university and to the Newman Center. I know that it is not easy to send your children off to someplace where you have no daily influence on their lives. I remember sending my three sons away to school and wondering what was going on in their lives.
Be assured that if your sons or daughters are involved in the Newman Center, they are also involved in other wholesome activities that contribute to their maturity. They are among the busiest students on campus, and most are leaders.
The Newman Center is a place where they can come to relax, meet others who are involved in the faith, do research, play games, eat cookies, and also develop their leadership skills through participation in the Newman Student Council.
I am privileged to know your sons and daughters and to assist them and to travel with them on their path. I assure you that they will come back to you wiser, more dedicated to their faith, and more confident in who they are.
I hope that you will stop in for a visit when you are in Rolla. Feel free to call or write at any time.
